Migraine and headaches

Many of us suffer more or less regularly from headaches. And yes, women are more affected than men. The reason for this? Hormones, of course, but not only hormones. But first things first.

Headache or cephalalgia? It's the same thing, headache is simply the scientific name for headaches. Most often of no consequence, they pass quickly and interfere little or not at all with our daily lives. When headaches become chronic, they are known as tension headaches, which can last from a few hours to several days and really affect daily life.

There are many causes of headaches, not all of which are easy to identify. Among the most common are stress, fatigue, muscular tension, poor sleep, eating too much or drinking too much, taking too many medicines, etc. A healthy lifestyle and a daily energy balancing session will get rid of them. Much less common, migraine is a primary headache that occurs in attacks, the frequency of which varies greatly from person to person and lasts from 4 to 72 hours. It is characterised by a headache that sets in gradually and a ‘pulsating’ pain, as if the heart were beating in the skull.

Physical exertion accentuates the pain, and usually only one side of the head is affected. Attacks can sometimes be accompanied by nausea, even vomiting, and discomfort with light and noise. Migraines are usually treated with analgesics and vasoconstrictors. For anyone looking for an effective, non-invasive solution, the magnetic headband is both vasoconstrictive and analgesic.
